The main beach of Methoni is a long sandy shore with shallow, crystal-clear waters, ideal for families. It has been awarded a Blue Flag and offers stunning views of the castle and Bourtzi.
Sapientza is a beautiful uninhabited islet opposite Methoni, known for its rich vegetation, kri-kri (Cretan wild goats), and ancient shipwrecks lying on its seabed. The deepest point of the Mediterranean is also located here.
Lampes consists of two consecutive, beautiful beaches west of Methoni, with clean waters. One is more organized with a beach bar and restaurant, while the other offers quieter moments of relaxation.
North of Methoni, at a distance of about 2 kilometers, are the Catacombs of Saint Onuphrius, carved into the rock. They constitute an interesting point of historical and religious interest.
Enjoy your swim in the shallow and crystal-clear waters of the main beach which has been awarded a Blue Flag. The view of the castle from the sea creates a unique setting for swimming.
