The best time to visit Avlemonas is in the spring (May-June) and autumn (September-October), when the weather is mild and the crowds are fewer. Summer (July-August) is also popular, with temperatures reaching 29°C, but the village can be more crowded.
Kythira has a Health Center in Chora, as well as rural clinics in various villages. For more serious incidents, transfer to mainland Greece may be necessary.
At the Cavallini residence, in the small cove behind the village center, there is an ornate sundial. It is one of the most characteristic and iconic buildings of Avlemonas.
